Thank you for being part of what God is doing
A few moments in history
Our first day in Reni 1996
Winter in Reni... It looks cold (and it is!) 1998
It gets quite cold in Reni during the winter. Temperatures of more than 20 below is normal. The biggest problem is the icy wind and humidity! This winter has been quite mild. It snowed a couple of times. The children enjoy this the most. Sometimes it gets quite scary when driving on ice and snow. When the snow melts, however, the streets are full of mud and it can be even trickier driving through the mud!
The kids having fun in the snow... 2007
It is great fun to go down the slope behind our house. Here the children are standing in front of our house. Psalm 23 on the gate.
My beloved and I...
Do you think that the snow is romantic? White parks with white trees and a white landscape... Since the very first day we landed in Ukraine, Michele thought that snow was most romantic! Her very first words were: "Look! Just like shining diamonds!" She was referring to the cold winter sun being reflected by the ice crystals on the snow! I was, of course, paying more attention to the temperature of 27 below, being the more practical of the two of us!
Our building - God's blessing 2004
After years of real persecution and having to change our meeting place ten times, the Lord gave us this building right on the city square! We believe this building is meant to be a place where the people of Reni, dwelling in darkness, can come to the Light of the world, Jesus Christ! We have services on the third floor. A company is renting the second floor and on the first floor we have a Christian coffee shop and a couple of departments where church members are working.
Ivan's second birthday! 2007
Ivan becomes two in Reni! All thanksgiving to our Lord! Ivan will always be a living symbol to us that God is faithful and able to make his promises come true. Ivan plays the drums. His favorite song is "Come Jesus!" and he is very quick to recognize the cross everywhere! When Michele was still pregnant with Ivan - and we very going through the very darkest trial of our lives - she was bleeding for three weeks and the doctors could not do a thing. The Lord spoke to us about Mary and how the enemy was trying to kill the Child she was carrying. He was asking her: "Are you willing to carry My promises to the very end?" We renounced all doubt and unbelief and embraced the promises of the Lord: YES LORD WE ARE WILLING! The Lord said this child will be a sign of how the enemy tried to rob us of our ministry and calling, but how He is faithful to finish the work He had begun. The bleeding stopped the very same day. Today Ivan is two years old and a blessing to us and everyone!
